Ex-boyfriend attacks 19-year-old woman in middle of the night and shoots her along with her sister and parents

MOUNT JOY, PA - In a tragic turn of events, a 21-year-old man is accused of opening fire on a family in their Mount Joy apartment, leaving one dead and others injured. Ricky Shannon allegedly drove nearly two hours to the scene after being served with a Protection From Abuse (PFA) order following a turbulent relationship with his ex-girlfriend, Gabriela "Gabby" Morgan.

Authorities reported that Shannon was served with a PFA from Morgan on November 7, just two days after he had filed a similar order against her. Early Friday morning, Shannon allegedly arrived at the Millers' home, escalating the situation into a deadly encounter.

The shooting took place around 4:15 a.m. when Shannon allegedly began firing inside the residence where Gabby, her mother Kimberly Day-Miller, her stepfather Brian Miller, and her younger sister Jennifer Day were present.

According to police and family members, Kim was critically injured and later died of her wounds at a nearby hospital. Her death was pronounced at 5:55 a.m.

Gabby endured numerous gunshot wounds and was reportedly abducted by Shannon, forcing her into his vehicle before law enforcement intervened. Meanwhile, Brian and Jennifer survived the harrowing attack but experienced significant physical and emotional trauma. Hospitalized after the incident, they were discharged on November 12 and have been navigating their path to recovery since.

Gabby had recently sought refuge in her family's apartment, desperate to escape the cycle of domestic violence with Shannon. According to family representatives, the act bore the marks of premeditated violence, given Shannon's travel time following the PFA issuance. "He had almost two hours to reconsider his actions," the spokesperson said.

A GoFundMe page for the Day, Miller, and Morgan family has been set up to assist with funeral costs and support Brian and Jennifer's recovery journey. The grieving family has asked for privacy during this difficult time, with all communication requested to go through their appointed spokesperson.

Shannon now faces serious charges as the community mourns the loss and rallies around the surviving family members. The shooting highlights the devastating consequences of domestic disputes and the urgent need for community resources to support those affected by such violence.

Kentucky man breaks in and kills mother of 4 he blames for breaking up his relationship

BAGDAD, KY - A Wisconsin woman, recently married and a mother of four, was tragically killed in a murder-suicide earlier this month, leaving a community grappling with unanswered questions and grief.

Jessica Hager, 40, was shot at her home in the early hours of Oct. 5, an incident confirmed by a brief statement from the Shelby County Sheriff's Office. The suspected shooter, identified as Michael Rahmlow, 42, was known to the family through a turbulent relationship with Hager's sister-in-law.

David Hager, the victim's husband of just three months, explained that Rahmlow, a former Marine, struggled with mental health issues, a battle he openly talked about on social media. The tragic event unfolded just after 3:30 a.m. when deputies responded to an emergency call at the family's Bagdad residence, finding both adults deceased inside.

The Shelby County Coroner identified Jessica and confirmed that Rahmlow had confronted someone at the house earlier that day before returning and forcibly entering the residence. During the violent encounter, David Hager managed to escape but later described the harrowing moments preceding his wife's death.

David recounted to neighbors the terrifying sounds of glass shattering and a door being violently breached. Acting on instinct, he urged Jessica to seek refuge in the basement as he tried to comprehend the unfolding chaos.

The friendship between David Hager and Rahmlow, marked by frequent visits and conversations, took a tragic turn. According to David, Rahmlow irrationally blamed Jessica for the frequent breakups with his sister-in-law, exacerbating existing tensions.

Rahmlow's frustrations with the Department of Veterans Affairs, particularly concerning his difficulties in obtaining PTSD treatment, were a recurring theme in his online posts, adding complexity to the narrative of the violent incident.

Back in Wisconsin, Jessica's high school friends mourn her loss under her maiden name, Jessica Diedrick. The lack of clarity surrounding the case compounds their grief as they seek to understand the circumstances that led to such a senseless tragedy.

A GoFundMe campaign was launched by friends in Wisconsin to assist with covering funeral costs and supporting Jessica's children, ensuring they are cared for during this unimaginable time. Meanwhile, the investigation continues as authorities work to provide more definitive answers to a shaken community.

Neighbors and friends alike remain haunted by the incomprehensible loss, echoing calls for deeper exploration into the motivations and missed signals that might have prevented the tragedy.
